Why 30 Minutes? The Science Behind It
Our 30-minute protocol follows research-backed timing for optimal effectiveness and safety:
Infrared Sauna: Up to 25 minutes at a comfortable heat for relaxation, detoxification, and recovery
Ice Bath: 15°C for a maximum of 3 minutes to stimulate circulation, improve mood, and support metabolism
Longer or colder sessions, particularly for females, can set progress back
Red Light Therapy: Can be used while in the sauna for additional benefits: skin rejuvenation, deep tissue pain relief, and better sleep
Why Heat First, Then Cold?
Sauna relaxes muscles, increases blood flow, and promotes sweating
Ice bath contracts blood vessels, slows heart rate, and enhances recovery
This contrast boosts circulation, stimulates thermogenesis in brown fat, and leaves you refreshed and energised
Frequency for Maximum Benefits
Sauna: 3–4 times per week
Ice Bath: Up to 11 minutes per week (split into short sessions)
The Science of Contrast Therapy
Infrared Sauna: Detoxification, pain relief, muscle recovery, improved sleep
Red Light Therapy: Rejuvenates skin, supports tissue repair
Ice Bath: Triggers noradrenaline and dopamine release, boosts mood and mental clarity, activates cold shock proteins to regenerate brain synapses and improve memory
A few minutes of discomfort delivers lasting benefits – better circulation, enhanced fat metabolism, a clearer mind, and an elevated mood!
